New 'Sell' Feature

Created by Bryonie Simon, Modified on Wed, 8 Apr at 4:30 PM by Bryonie Simon

Based on customer feedback for single-phase low voltage systems, we have launched a new feature allowing for the battery power to be sold according to the system timer without changing the system work mode to ‘selling first’.

Please note that for this feature to be available your software version must be LCD E43E and MCU2 xx89 or higher.

Settings

On the inverter display:

A new column of checkboxes has been added to ‘System 1’ labelled sell.

On Sunsynk Connect:

A new on/off toggle labelled ‘Sell 1, 2, 3... etc’ has been added to each time slot.

(In the screenshots above the battery is set to sell between 15:00 and 15:30 until it reaches a target SOC of 20%. If the battery is at 20% SOC or lower the battery will not sell.)

Requirements

To use the ‘sell’ feature the system work mode must be ‘Zero-Export to CT’ (Limit to Home) and ‘solar export’ MUST be enabled.

The ‘inverter power limiter’ is the inverter export power limit (grid side loads + selling power’.

System Logic

If the timer is set with ‘Sell’ checked the battery will discharge to the set SOC.

(Between 10:00 to 11:00 the battery will ‘sell’ to 20)

If the timer is set with ‘Grid’ checked the battery will charge to the target SOC.

(Between 10:00 to 11:00 the battery will charge from ‘grid’ to 100%)

If sell and grid are both enabled at the same time:

  • If the battery SOC is above the timer target SOC, the battery will sell until the target SOC is met.

  • If the battery SOC is below the timer target SOC, the battery will charge until the target SOC is met.

(Between 10:00 and 11:00 if the battery SOC is above 50% the battery will ‘sell’ to 50%, if the battery SOC is below 50% the battery will charge from ‘grid’ to 50%.)

If the timer is set with ‘Sell’ checked and the battery is already at or below the target SOC nothing will happen.

The power value in the system timer relates to the battery buy/sell power only. For the combined inverter output power of PV/Wind plus battery power ‘inverter power limiter’ must be used.

(Between 01:00 and 05:00 the battery will ‘sell’ to the grid at 1000W until it reaches 20%. If PV/wind is available this will also sell up to a total inverter output power of 10000W)
