SELLING FIRST MODE – Sunsynk Connect – CT Connected Toggle Switch

Hybrid Inverters - Classic Standard and Ecco 3.6kW to 16kW Inverters ONLY

(N/A for 3-Phase or other Single Phase Models eg Lifelynk, Acure, Lynks etc)

This article explains the reason for the new “CT Connected” on/off switch and what it means from a sales and support perspective, using the two images below as reference.

NOTE: This will not affect Limit to Load or Limit to Home, Work Modes.

Image 1 – Power Flow Screen
You’ll see a new toggle, (which is now next to the Grid Icon) labelled CT Connected.
This switch is simply a way for the system to know whether a grid CT is installed.

What is the purpose of this new feature:

When a system is set to Selling First mode, the inverter ignores the readings from the CT.
If the system does not know that a CT is connected, it:

  • Assumes all export is coming directly from the inverter
  • Does not correctly see the house (non-essential) load
  • Cannot accurately calculate grid import and export

By turning the CT Connected switch ON, we are telling the system:

“Yes, there is a CT installed on the grid connection – use it.”

Once this new feature is enabled:

  • The system reads grid power correctly
  • House (non-essential) load is therefore calculated correctly
  • Import and export are measured at the grid, not guessed from inverter output

 Effect on Energy Graphs

Image 2 – Energy Graphs (Day / Month / Year)
With the new CT Connected switch is turned ON, the system can now correctly show:

  • Grid Import (energy taken from the grid)
  • Grid Export (energy sent to the grid)
  • These values are available for daily, monthly, and yearly reporting

The values highlighted in Image 2 are now true grid import/export figures, based on the import and export power readings of the CT.

Without the switch enabled:

  • Import and export values are only based on inverter power
  • They do not represent true grid energy

Takeaway

  • The CT Connected switch must be ON if a grid CT is installed
  • This ensures correct:
    • House load display
    • Selling First behaviour
    • Grid import/export history
  • If customers report “wrong load” or “missing grid import/export data”, this switch should be one of the first things to check and should be set to ON
